The MIM has a huge collection of thousands of instruments from around the world with audiovisual examples of them being played in various cultural contexts, ranging from field recordings to concerts to technical demonstrations. Some of the instruments are available to play and their orchestrion is demonstrated twice a day. They also have regular concerts and a rotating special exhibit in addition to their permanent galleries.
